Dismissing any of these ideas on the basis that they're "unbalanced" is wrong. Bear in mind that any new pet will HAVE to have the exact same damage output/health as all* the other pets. If ANY pet was given superior stats, then EVERY pet user would have that pet, thus making all other pets superfluous.
*except the Bear, which is rubbish

I believe the "Boarilla" looked like a potential pet from the PC Gamer preview.
It was like a combination of a gorilla and a boar... go figure

Snograt is right. The pets are going to have to be balanced.
I've read DETAILED stats on the pets and all, they are balanced, the tiger and the bird and the hog and the Stalker and the spider ect ect ect. They're all exactly the same, with the one exception that the bear hits a bit slower.
They're not going to put in Camels for storage or Snakes for poision or elephants with enormous str bonouses. They're all going to have roughly the same stats across the board. One might be a bit slower or a smidge faster but don't bet on it. To me, GW looks to have messed up on the bear and tried to kinda phase it out but people complained so they just slowed it down and made it "Inconvienant" to use.

(big 5?
lion,zebra,elephant,giraffe and wilderbeast)
these animals are not the Big 5
the Big 5 are Lion, Elephant,Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo and incase you don't know
the Big 5 refers to the top 5 big game hunting animals. not the top 5 favorite animals. i know cause i live in africa.

Foxes/jackels would be really nice, and ones that will look like the currrent lynx/melandru stalkers, but ones that look thinner, cunning, with ears up.
Rhinos would be really cool too, as long as they don't make them wrinkley..

Actually it describes the Boarilla as an enemy not a pet.

Hehehe
no thank you. I don't want a monkey. You know what...I want a big honking jungle bat to eat all those tiny monkeys! Sounds fair enough. Or even a buffalo. I don't think the elephants, lions, cheetahs, dingos, hogs, or any other animal talked about besides the crocodile and the rhino will be tameable

Bushtoad
Bushtoad? hehe. Bull frog? This is called a bush toad found in the guild wars website. And I think the lion and rat thing is possible seeing is how its pic is shown on the site
Doesn't look like much of a pet though.
CAN'T WAIT TO KILL HARPIES, GRIPHONS, SIRENS, AND lOTS OF OTHER COOL NEW MONSTERS!! See you in Elona!

Well the webpage update pretty much confirms two of the new pets.
Lion and Rat.
Factions had tigers, white tigers, blue crabs, red crabs, black moa, crane, and phoenix. Or to be slightly more accurate, tigers, reef lurkers, crane and phoenix. The rest just being different colors of the same design.
So we probably only have 2 more new possible pets in nightfall, discounting color variations.
I'm going to go with hyenas and some form of aardvark.
